The all-time record-breaker, Avatar released in 2009, created by James Cameron, is all set to release its second instalment. After a decade break, it is expected to get premiered in December 2020.
Avatar 2 was initially aimed to be released in 2014. But due to the addition of new technology to film performance capture acenes underwater, a feat never accomplished before that led to delay in the writing and production procedure.
Cameron did worry about the fact maybe the film and its techniques would not be able to capture limelight and may not attract audiences but Avengers: Endgame is the most significant proof that people will surely go for it.
Avatar 2 is scheduled to be released on 17th December 2021. According to inside sources, it was earlier decided that it will get premiered this year itself, but due to specific production work, it got delayed to next year. Every other year one Avatar movie will be released until, December 2027. For the time being, that is the plan.
There are no official announcements about what the titles of the film would be, but Cameron has suggested names as Avatar: The Of Water, Avatar: The Seed Bearer.
In case of the cast, the entire cast of the first instalment is a part of the upcoming sequels. Zoe Saldana will be returning as the Na’ vi Princess Neytiri. Sam Worthington will reprise his role as Jake Sully, Goddess Sigourney Weaver and Stephen Lang shall also be back. CCH Pounder will reprise her role as Neytiri’s mother, Mo’ at. Oona Chaplin, Cliff Curtis, Edie Falco will be joining the sequels. Many more actors are also signed for the upcoming sequels, but the reports are not disclosed yet.
One of the biggest news is that Kate Winslet is expected to join the cast as Ronal. This would be her second collaboration with James Cameron after her first blockbuster film Titanic.
