Cobra Kai, the show maintaining the legacy of Karate Kid. It certainly had found ways to expand the plot of the old movies with keeping the core intact. However, there’s still one major question that comes with the series, who is the main villain? Well, in the movies we were quick to call Johnny as the main villain as he is portrayed to be, given his bullying. Though in the series Cobra Kai, we get to see a whole other side of Johnny. So, that brings us to the ultimate question, who is the actual villain?
The real villain in Cobra Kai?
Although we do not have a definite answer, Ralph Macchio and William Zabka have given their thoughts on the topic. Here’s the video of it.
Ralph and William both seemed to be supporting their characters and calling the other one the bad guy. Their conversation included incidents from both, the movie as well as the series. To portray Johnny as the bad guy, Ralph brought forward the Beach brawl and the Skeleton ambush from the movie. In Johnny’s defense, William said that it was the way he was trained in Cobra Kai, Strike First, Strike Hard.
However, Daniel appeared to the prickly kind of guy in the series when he bragged about kicking Johnny in the face to his friends when Johnny visits him in his Auto service. Overall, both of them appeared to be the bad guys at times.
However, if you ask me the real bad guy is, I would say John Kreese, the sensei of Cobra Kai. He did not play by the rules and he trained his disciples to be that way. Well, for me, the old Cobra Kai is something like it trains people to be bullies.
