Travis Bryant is on the rise as young Hollywood’s next big thing.
The young Texas native has come a long way from his Disney Junior roots. From starring in the Fox Searchlight film Breakthrough to returning to the small screen in BET’s American Soul as he reprises his role, Trey Johnson, to the recent announcements of his new role with the Crayola Company as their youngest brand ambassador, is there anything this kid can’t do?
“Working alongside a brand that I’ve used and known my whole childhood is nothing short of surreal, however, this isn’t about me—my partnership is about the need to creating shared space to promote diverse skin-tone shade products that celebrate the beauty of my melanated brothers and sisters” Bryant shared in a written statement.
The ‘Colors of the World’ campaign will feature the 22-year-old actor in a series of TV and digital ads including social media running in July ahead of the 2020-21 school year. Bryant will also be supporting their launch with Walmart coming in July.
The ‘Colors of the World’ campaign will also feature Crayola’s newest box of crayons with different skin tones for children to “accurately color themselves into the world”. The Crayola Company said in a statement the box includes 24 new crayons designed to mirror and represent over 40 different skin tones.
The crayons themselves will be wrapped in a gradient skin tone label with the color name in English, Spanish and French, and a realistic color name — such as Light Golden, Deep Almond, and Medium Deep Rose.
“With the world growing more diverse than ever before, Crayola hopes our new Colors of the World crayons will increase representation and foster a greater sense of belonging and acceptance,” said Crayola CEO Rich Wuerthele in the statement.
