‘Friends’: The One Where Monica And Rachel Were Replaced And Nobody Noticed

The proximity to the 25th anniversary of the series has again put under the magnifying glass various situations and anecdotes of one of the most successful sit-com of American television.

For those “Friends” fans who have surely seen the series again and again and believe that there is no secret that they do not know about the successful NBC sit-com, there is a great detail that perhaps, has been able to go unnoticed, even for them.

This is the replacement suffered by the characters of Monica (Courtney Cox) and Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) during the eighth and ninth season of the series.

The One With Rachel’s Date:

In the chapter “The one with Rachel’s date”, which corresponds to the fifth of the eighth season, Monica and Phoebe hold a conversation at Central Perk when suddenly, a profile shot of the first clearly shows another actress chatting with the character played by Lisa Kudrow.

The One With The Mugging:

Something similar happened during the recording of the chapter “The One With The Mugging”, corresponding to the fifteenth of the ninth season of the series.

This time, it is Rachel, who appears on the scene with Joey. Both talk to Monica in her apartment when suddenly, a change of plane, shows us, almost completely, to another actress in the place that the character played by Jennifer Aniston should occupy.

” Friends “, one of the most popular series in the history of television, will celebrate its 25th anniversary in September with the screening in American cinemas of twelve of its most famous episodes.

The sit-com that premiered on September 22, 1994, closed in 2004 ten seasons of success after 236 episodes on the air starring Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer.

Despite the 15 years since the issuance of its final chapter, comedy remains a phenomenon for countless fans around the world who are still willing to watch, over and over again in repositions or digital platforms, Rachel’s stories, Monica, Phoebe, Joey, Chandler, and Ross.
