So yes, you heard it right, you won’t be able to use WhatsApp on your iOS 8 smartphones after 1st Feberarury 2020.
If you are currently using Whatsapp on your iOS 8 device you can only use until 1st February 2020, according to the new update. New update says to run Whatsapp on your iOS device your iOS should be iOS 9 or later versions. Currently, who are using Whatsapp on iOS version 8 or lesser they cannot create a new account or reverify the existing account, the users can only continue with their existing account until February 1st, 2020, the FQA’s page of the Whatsapp messaging says this.
“For the best experience and the user interface, we highly recommend you to use the best available version of iOS on your device,” Whatsapp said this.
Even Whatsapp had said that users of Android 2.3.7 or older version would too not be able to use Whatsapp on their device after February 1st, 2020, they can neither create a new account nor can reverify their account can only use their existing account till 1st February 2020.
Whatsapp had also added that “We don’t restrict the use of jailbroken devices, but just because these modifications can affect the functionality of your device. So, we can’t be able to provide support for devices using modified versions of the iPhone’s Operating System (iOS).
So, all the iOS users who are still using iOS 8 and the Android users who are currently on 2.3.7 version or lesser have to upgrade it to iOS 9 and versions higher than 2.3.7 to continue with the Whatsapp Messenger before 1st February 2020.
