Netflix’s Money Heist: Season 5 And Spin-Off Plans Revealed By Makers

One of the most distinguished shows of Netflix, Money Heist is soon coming up with its fifth season. The crime drama series, created by Alex Pina, is a Spanish television series named La Casa de Papel. It was first aired on 2nd May 2017 and has been a massive hit since then.

Originally it was supposed to be a limited series of two seasons, but later Netflix picked up the show from Antenna 3 and premiered the series worldwide. After receiving tons of positive response, Netflix renewed the series with a raised budget. The series also received numerous awards one of which is  Best Drama Series at the Emmy Awards.

The plot revolves around a criminal mastermind, who enlists eight other people with certain abilities and have nothing to lose, to pull off the biggest money heist in history.

What Is The Release Date Of Season 5?

According to the sources, Season 5 is expected to get released on 5th April 2021. The sixth instalment is also supposed to get aired the same year itself. But nothing has been confirmed by the makers or the broadcaster. One of the main reason why it hasn’t been confirmed officially is because of the present state of situations.

Due to the outbreak of COVID-19, it has been strictly ordered to stay indoors and maintain social distancing. All productions and releases have been put on hold or delayed for the next few months. If a similar situation continues, production of Season 5 won’t be happening until everything is resumed back to normalcy.

Are There Any Spin-Off Plans?

The fourth season ended with a cliffhanger and multiple unanswered questions, which we are looking forward to in next season.  Nothing much is known about the plot of Season 5 or how the series will end after two more seasons, but there are chances of spin-off shows based on some of the characters. We hope to get more updates soon and until then stay tuned!
