Star Trek: Discovery, yet another series in the Star Trek Franchise. Set roughly a decade before the events of the original Star Trek series follows the crew of USS discovery on various adventures. The show premiered on 24th September 2017 and is now about to release the third season. It is an original feature of CBS however, can also be streamed on Netflix a day later.
When will the third season release?
15th October 2020 is the date of release. It can be watched on Netflix from 16th, the next day. The third season took a little longer than usual to release due to slow down in production amid the coronavirus pandemic. In the US it will be aired on CBS All Access and for the rest of the world, you have Netflix.
To mark the 54th anniversary of Star Trek’s original series, CBS has released a trailer. Here it is.
Moreover, it has come to our knowledge that the next season will be set 930 years into the future that is year 3188. Here, the federation has dissolved after an event popularly known as “The Burn”. A major concern of this season will be to revive the Galactic Organisation.
What about the cast of the next season?
The cast for the third season keeps growing with the recent addition of the newest member, Grudge the cat.

The characters that were present at the end of season 2 will most probably reprise their roles. Such as Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green), Saru (Doug Jones), Paul Stamets (Anthony Rapp), Sylvia Tilly (Mary Wiseman), Nhan (Rachael Ancheril), Dr. Hugh Culber (Wilson Cruz), Nilsson (Sara Mitich), Gen Rhys (Patrick Kwok-Choon), Keyla Detmer (Emily Coutts), Joann Owosekun (Oyin Oladejo), RA Bryce (Ronnie Rowe), Jett Reno (Tig Notaro) and Philippa Georgiou (Michelle Yeoh).
However, some additions to the cast have also been announced. Anson Mount as Christopher Pike and Ethan Peck as Spock. Further, David Ajala will be joining the cast as Cleveland Booker.
