The Haunting of Hill House, an American horror-drama series on Netflix. It is based on a novel The Haunting of Hill House from 1959 by Shirley Jackson. The story is about five adult siblings whose paranormal experiences at Hill House in the past continue to haunt them in the present day. The story runs in two different timelines — one in history and the other in the present.
Season 2 Updates?
The first season of the show was released in 2018. With fantastic ratings and comments like real horror. It had been officially renewed for another season. However, the name of the next season is going to be different. It is The Haunting of Bly Manor. Based on a different novel named The turn of the screw by Henry James. It is also going to have a diverse cast and, of course, a different story. It is set to release in 2020, but we do not know the release date yet.
However, to suit the theme of the show, it wouldn’t be wrong to guess the release date to be the scariest day of the year, Halloween. Yes, it could be 31st October 2020.
Although the second season will follow a different story, some of the cast is set to return. Victoria Pedretti (Nellie Crain) was revealed to be returning to the show on the show’s official Twitter account, alongside Oliver Jackson-Cohen, who played Nellie’s twin, Luke. Henry Thomas is also set to return for season 2 with an unknown role.
Critical Review of the Show.
The show was called the best horror series on Netflix. The Haunting of Hill House uses some relevant Gothic Text, but it proved to be worth it. Its intricate storytelling and use of multiple timeframes did deliver expertly choreographed scares. The pressure of adapting The Turn of The Screw will arguably bring higher pressure, but Flanagan and his cast have already proved up to the task.
