The Rookie Season 3: Official Release Date Updates?

The Rookie, the police procedural comedy-drama series based on the life of a man being recruited to in LAPD at the age of around 38. It is inspired by the real-life old age rookie who joining LAPD after the age of 34. The show has also managed to gain a huge fan base with the two seasons having an average viewer base of about 7.5 million.

Will there be another season?

The twisted ending of the second season hinted towards the possibility of the third season. Moreover, to ease the curiosity of the viewers the network renewed the show for the third season in May itself. Although the production may not start for a while, the third season will still happen sooner or later.

When might the third season release?

The first season premiered on October 16th, 2018, and ended on April 16th, 2019. It was soon followed by the second season premiering on September 29th, 2019 which ended recently on May 10th, 2020. We were hoping for the show to continue with its trend of releasing around October but it will not be the case this time. As the world is still fighting against the COVID 19 pandemic and several productions have been delayed. This show will also face some delay in its release.

Seeing that there is a gap of around six months between two seasons and adding a delay of about 3 months in the production, we might get the third season around March 2021. However, it is in case the production resumes normally at most by September 2020.

We still cannot be sure about it and it mostly depends on the pandemic situation. As soon as we get rid of it, we will have the show in the next six months after that. Till then rewatch the older seasons and try to speculate what might happen ahead.
