Watchmen Season 2: Has HBO Renewed The Show? Here’s What A Fan Should Know

At the end of 2019, Watchmen arrived with a bang, and with a story, we’ll no doubt continue in 2020 also. Created by Damon Lindelof, which is based on the 1986-87 DC Comics series of the same name written by Alan Moore, the show takes up the decades after the original comics ended, converting this Cold War-era story into a reflection of white supremacy.

Even though we don’t have the official statement that when Watchmen season 2 is coming, still there is plenty of information available to inform what could happen in a new season.

Spoilers ahead for Watchmen Season 1.

Has HBO Renewed Watchmen For A Second Season?

Not yet, but it’s essential to remember Watchmen was never made initially with the intention for it to last longer than one season. From the very beginning, Damon Lindelof has maintained Watchmen was envisioned as a standalone limited series, and, as such, the story he meant to tell was going to feel like a complete story.

With Season 1 in the bag and tons of critical acclaim as well as fan praise swarming the series, HBO could opt to renew for Season 2. But as of late December 2019, it’s still a waiting game.

Watchmen Season 2: Is Damon Lindelof Coming Back?

Will Damon Lindelof coming back in Watchmen Season 2? It is the trickier question than the previous one. Lindelof mentioned “his interest in the idea of returning in season 2 without confirming that he is returning or not” in an interview.

Watchmen Season 2: When Will Release Date Arrive?

It quite impossible that we will even see the second season of Watchmen till 2021. Also, if HBO announces the shoe before the end of 2019, yet it will release in 2021 (not confirmed).

Watchmen Season 2: Which Cast Member Are Coming Back?

It is not sure yet. But logically may this cast come back in HBO Watchmen Season 2:

Regina King (Angela Abar, aka Sister Night); Tim Blake Nelson (Wade Tillman, aka Looking Glass); Jean Smart (Laurie Blake); Jeremy Irons (Adrian Veidt); Louis Gossett, Jr. (Will Reeves, aka Hooded Justice); Tom Mison (Mr. Phillips); Sarah Vickers (Ms. Crookshanks); Dylan Schombing (Topher Abar); Jolie Hoang-Rappaport (Bian).
