Which Is The Best SitCom? We Settle The Debate For Once And All

Source: Fatherly

It’s a long lost cause to arrive at one and only one SitCom which can be crowned the king among all. We can have many running for the first place.

SitComs or situation comedy have been a part of daily soaps from decades originating from radio shows.

The first US sitcom broadcasted on television was Mary Kay and Johnny.

It would be a sin if this Season was not to be kept on the list. 236 whooping number of episodes spread over 10 seasons.

Created by David Crane and Marta Kauffman, the Season first aired on September 22, 1994. The story revolves around six friends in the youth living in Manhattan, New York City.

The Big Bang Theory

This season has won seven Emmy awards from 46 nominations in different categories. Jim Parsons also won the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Television Comedy Series in  2011. The Season Young Sheldon is a prequel to The Big Bang Theory.

Unique Selling Point of this Season was the fact that it was filmed in front of a live audience, which was produced by Warner Bros.

The show is centered around five characters.  Its gonna take months to cover its 279 episodes in its 12 Seasons.

The Simpsons

Some people may call it a cartoon but for others its a lifeline. The Simpsons are one of the oldest and the vastest running sitcom created by Matt Groening for the Fox Broadcasting Company.

Since its debut on December 17, 1989, the Season has traveled a long way both in terms os Seasons and number of episodes. Its boasts of 31 seasons combining 684 episodes.

The Series is a middle-class life experience of Simpson family comprising of Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie.

How I Met Your Mother

Winner of 10 Emmy Awards from its 30 nominations, How I Met Your Mother or HIMYM.

As soon as it was aired the Season took over the void left in the wake of Friends going off-air. The Season is set in the background of the year 2030, wherein Ted Mosby recalls his events in meeting the mother of his son and daughter. I would suggest looking at the season to learn relationship ideas.

Family Guy

Family Guy was created by Seth MacFarlane, the same person who made our childhood awesome by writing cartoons like Johnny Bravo, Dexter’s Laboratory, and starred in movies like Ted and its sequel Ted 2.

It is another series with long stretched Season with 349 aired episodes in all. In 2013, TV Guide ranked the season the ninth Greatest TV Cartoon of All Time.

From the writers of The Simpsons, there comes another adult animated season by Matt Groening. It aired on Fox from March 28, 1999, to August 10, 2003, followed by airing on Comedy Central from March 23, 2008, to September 4, 2013.

The Season won 6 Emmy awards from its 12 nominations. Futurama is set in New New York in the 31st century, where technology seems to be at its peak.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine

Brooklyn Nine-Nine or B99 revolves around Jake Peralta, who works as an NYPD detective in Brooklyn 99th precinct. Jake is often seen standing in opposition to his Commanding Officer, Captain Raymond Holt.

B99 is a young season with episodes no more than 143 spanning in 7 Seasons.

Rick and  Morty

Rick and Morty is again an animated cartoon adventure of Rick Sanchez, who is a mad scientist and his grandson Morty Smith. The series follows the misadventures of the scientist created by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon for Cartoon Network.

The Seasons put above are in no definitive ranking. I will let the readers decide which Season would they like to put in the right place. For new binge-watchers, sure do go ahead and watch these to have hours of laughter and insight of other people’s lives and human tendencies. By the way, my favorite is B99, what is yours, do let us know.
